MAMO
MAMO is undoubtedly the ultimate Irish Trad Band consisting of some of the best Traditional Irish musicians, singers and dancers from Ireland.
The musicians that make up MAMO are Abby Ní Loingsigh on fiddle from Cork, Stephen O’Dea on guitar from Clare, Róisín Broderick on concertina from Galway and Killian Shannon on banjo and bouzouki from Clare. The group have been playing together for a number of years and have toured extensively throughout Ireland, Europe and the U.S.A .
With Traditional Music and Acts receiving well deserved international recognition, the band took it in their stride to specialise in their beloved Irish traditional music and songs, but also like to shake it up a little by performing original material. They have performed at many International festivals around the world and also perform at corporate events in Ireland and abroad.
From emerging bands, to céilí groups and dancers, industry innovators and their established contemporaries, this year sees over 300 artists & filmmakers premier newly filmed performances, covering the breadth of Ireland and the scope of its talents.
A celebration of our most treasured performers, this programme commemorates the rich history of traditional music while looking forward to the future and recognising some of the industry's most innovative artists. SPF TV audiences are invited to join the party, from intimate sessions to foot stomping céilí bands, this is an opportunity to delve deep into Ireland's wealth of traditional music.
