Axis presents five mini films featuring current poets and spoken word artists celebrating important poetry from Ireland’s past. Vocals and images. Old poems by young poets brought to life by some of our most talented illustrators.

Pat Ingoldsby is known to a generation of children for his 1980s Pat’s Hat and Pat’s Chat television shows, as well his storytelling on Bosco and writing for the Wanderly Wagon. A prolific storyteller, poet and playwright in the 1990s Pat made the decision to withdraw from television, radio and playwriting. Having since self-published multiple volumes of poetry and now an established part of Dublin’s streetscape, Pat enjoys when people happen upon him by chance and discover his work.
Roxanna Nic Liam is a poet, writer and actor from Dublin. She has performed her poetry at different festivals around the country including Body and Soul, All Together Now and Electric Picnic. Her poem ‘The Bubble’ was recently made into a short film directed by Dave Tynan and won best poetry film at the Doolin Writers Festival/ She has performed with many Irish theatre companies including The Abbey Theatre, Druid, Brokentalkers, THEATREclub and AXIS Ballymun. She has also worked in the UK with many companies, including the National Theatre in London. She is a trained drama facilitator.
Pat McGrath is an artist and community arts facilitator living and working in Dublin. He has been working in axis Ballymun for many years running children's art classes and outreach programmes. He also works as an adult education tutor for the CDETB. He has had exhibitions in axis and his work is in private collections in Ireland, the USA and Europe.
